Things You Should Know About Dog Part 19
There are many strange breeds of dog. Some of these unusual breeds came about because they suit the places where they live, but others have been especially bred to exaggerate their most peculiar characteristics.
The Chinese Crested dog is one of the most unusual-looking pets you will ever see. This breed is small and almost completely hairless, expect for sprouts of hair on its head, feet and tail. Chinese Crested dogs make great pets but they must be covered in sunscreen on hot days and have to wear a coat on cold days.

Shar Peis were bred in China to herd sheep and hunt boar but they are now kept as pets. Shar Peis almost become extinct in their native China and were once considered the rarest dog breed in the world. The line was continued by breeders in HOng Kong and they have become more popular in recent years.
The dog with the strangest name is the Xoloitzcuintle. Kown as Xolos for short, these dogs are completely hairless. By the 1950s it was going to die out, but since then it has become much more popular as a family pet.
